Overview

The installation procedure of Minyaa Suite has been deeply simplified with the version 4.0. Since all plugins are now based on Plugin V2 architecture, the installation can be performed from the Universal Plugin Manager of JIRA.

Installing and uninstalling Minyaa does not require anymore a restart of JIRA !

The main installation steps are now :

 

Select the version to use

Like previous Minyaa Versions, each functional version may be released for different JIRA version. For Minyaa 4.0, two distinct versions have been released :
  • Minyaa 6400.4.0 for JIRA 6.4.x (mainly tested against 6.4.12, the last JIRA version supported by Minyaa 3.5.2)
  • Minyaa 7000.4.0 for JIRA 7.0.x

 

Identify the edition to deploy

Minyaa is a Suite of Add On, and like older versions, some Add'On may have some dependency with other Add'On.
To simplify the deployment, Minyaa comes with different distribution with specific OBR file for each of them.
Provided Editions are :
  • Minyaa Suite : It contains all Add'On of the Suite,
  • Minyaa Core : It provides a set of basic features (see documentation),
  • Minyaa Time : It provides a set of features related the Time Management, like

    • A integrated way to manage your Timesheets with approval capacities

    • The ability to apply Type to entered Worklog

    • The delegation of Log Work

    • The ability to Log Work on Workflow Transition

    • The Log Work Gadget on Dashboard

    • Some Extended Work Log Permissions

    • Different Worklog Reports

    • The concept of Workers

  • Minyaa Workflows : It provides a set of features related the Workflows, like
    • Different Workflow Functions
    • A new Workflow Editor (Text mode) with the support of more OSWorkflow features,
    • An enhanced Auto-Transition Management
    • and more ...
  • Minyaa Spread : It allows to define some predefine Issue Link rule.
  • Minyaa Predefined Reports : It allows you to catch JIRA Report configuration and organize them in Scheme of predefined report.
    • Alkaes Users Security : It provides a set of User and Project Role Customfields, allowing you to implement some new ways to manage permission for accessing Projects and their issues

    Installation Procedure

    1. Go to Manage Add On
    2. Select your Minyaa Edition
    3. Peform its installation
      A set of different plugins will be installed.
      Some of them are only technical plugins
      Some others are licensed plugins/
    4. When installed, you will  be able to access the Alkaes License page, where it will be possible to upload a License Key file.

    Licenses Key files

    Minyaa Plugins and also other Alkaes Plugins are managed with a dedicated License System. The main reason of this is that some of these plugins may be a dependency of another plugins. This specific Licensing system allows to license a plugin with the license of another plugin.

    Some examples ...

    1. Minyaa Core can be licensed alone
    2. When Minyaa Time is licensed, Minyaa Core is automatically licensed
    3. When you use Minyaa Suite license, all other Minyaa plugins are also licensed.

    We do not exclude to switch to Marketplace licenses as soon as a such way to manage license will be possible.
